About

I was born and raised in Aberdeen, Scotland and hold dual nationality with both Great Britain & Canada respectively. I first entered the world of competition through team sports such as football or rugby where I regularly played for the school 1st teams in my early school years. By my mid teens I turned my focus to my after school activity and first passion, swimming.

I trained and raced to become a competent club level swimmer where I would regularly medal at regional championships & make A or B finals at Nationals.
At the age of 26 I turned to triathlon after a 5 year sporting hiatus after university partly due the demands of a new career & working on oil rigs in the North Seas, but once I moved into an office role I took up triathlon out of enjoyment & initially as a means to lose weight. I have since won national titles, gone on to represent Great Britain as a Professional Triathlete on numerous times where I have won a European Team Silver & became the first Briton to win the International Ironman UK triathlon event. I have also won and medalled in other elite Internationals around the world.

I have been proven to be best in the UK & believe I can go on to challenge the world. My goal is to top 10 at the World Ironman Championships & win more Ironman titles internationally.

But no ordinary athlete…
I am one of the few professional athletes who has experienced the turbulent nature of quick decision Industry in another highly competitive market - Oil &Gas.
I hold a B-Eng Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical & Offshore Engineering. I have worked both for Major Drilling contractors & Oil Companies in Office & Offshore positions.
